Hands-on. Evidence-informed. Individual.

  • You don’t need to be perfect, you only need to be good.”

With over 30 years in osteopathic practice in both the UK & Canada in private and hospital settings, and backed up with a Master’s degree specialising in pain & movement, I can reassure you that nobody has perfect posture; that ideal biomechanics do not necessarily correlate with your pain; and that how you process the world inside and around you is more related than you might think.

So it’s OK “not to be perfect” as long as you can do what you enjoy.

My aim isn’t to make you conform to a textbook ideal that doesn’t exist. It’s to help you function as the best version of yourself, whatever your age, history or anatomy.

I now practise in Victoria, BC, bringing together my experience in osteopathy with a modern, evidence-informed approach to pain and movement.

What is osteopathy?

Marc is UK-trained & registered, this is their definition: Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It focuses on the integration of the musculoskeletal system with other body systems and the influence that impaired function of each has on the other. It also seeks to empower patients in assisting their recovery to good health.

How do you practice?

Osteopaths use touch, physical manipulation, stretching and massage to increase the mobility of joints, to relieve muscle tension, to enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues, and to help your body’s own healing mechanisms. They also provide advice on posture, lifestyle and exercise to aid recovery, promote health and prevent symptoms recurring.

What do you treat?

Commonly treated conditions include joint pain including back, neck and shoulder pain, shoulder and elbow pains, headaches, neuralgia, sciatica, pain associated with arthritis, sports injuries, and other issues such as fibromyalgia, some digestion problems and circulatory (vascular) issues.
